D-iD® stands for Driver Identification. Our system works through your mobile device to alert if your vehicle is driven. Through the GTE app, you will receive a push message every time your vehicle is driven. If you are with the vehicle the message can be ignored. If you feel your vehicle is stolen you can click the push notification which will then open the app you can check the location or choose to call our Secure Control Room.
With the D-iD® system you no longer have to carry driver tags whenever you drive your vehicle. The Driver Identification utilises your mobile device instead.
No information from the D-iD® app is held on any Global Telemetrics Servers. The information is only stored on the end users handset/mobile device. For further information please view our Privacy Policy by visiting globaltelemetrics.com/terms.
The app is designed to periodically wake in the background to inform our servers it’s ready and listening for new events on the vehicle. There will be some drain when this happens but it will be negligible. When the verification process starts itself this uses more battery power, because it sets off location processing, Bluetooth connectivity and network connections. These all have an impact.

What if I have forgotten my mobile phone, my phone has run flat, or I am in a low signal area?
Yes, D-iD® has been processed through the Thatcham criteria for the Global Telemetrics monitored S5 category.
Our simple to use Driver Recognition System, a slim credit card-sized detection system designed to fit into most purses and wallets. The card is fully rechargeable via its supplied USB charger and will last up to 3 months on a single charge depending on vehicle usage.
S5 tracking devices provide an insurance recognised tracking device with Driver Identification to aid in the protection of your vehicle. Driver Identification is achieved in either of two ways, mobile phone identification using the D-iD feature on our GTE Track app or the presence in the vehicle of one of our state of the art Bluetooth driver detection cards.
