Driver Detection allows further protection of your vehicle, the system checks to determine the card is present while you are driving. The system is monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by the Global Telemetrics Secure Control Centre.

How to use

Your card should be present, switched on and charged accordingly whenever driving your vehicle. If your card is not present, your vehicle will not start. For added security and to preserve the battery life, the cards will enter a ‘sleep mode’* when stationary for 5 minutes. The card will automatically wake upon any movement. The vehicle will not start until the card has been moved. The cards can be turned off fully using the power button. A card in ‘sleep mode’* adds extra security as no signal is transmitted.

How to charge

 To charge your tag, attach the contacts from the charging cable to the round contact on the front of the card. If it is connected correctly, a red LED will illuminate on the tag. This will remain red whilst charging and once completed the LED will change to green.

No Tag, No Start

If your vehicle is fitted with one of our No Tag, No Start devices, once the ignition is switched off the immobilisation will arm within 90 seconds and will not start again until the card is present. Your vehicle will only start once the card is in the vehicle and switched on. Our No Tag, No Start cards also benefit from our ‘sleep mode’* feature so please bare in mind a card in ‘sleep mode’* will cause the vehicle not to start.

*Dependant on card and device generation.

FAQs

Driver Detection is a Bluetooth enabled, rechargeable tag that you must carry with you whenever you drive your vehicle. The tracking system fitted to your vehicle will recognise if the tag is present in the vehicle whenever it is moved. If the card is not present, an alert will be generated to the Global Telemetrics Control Centre.
Global Telemetrics will contact you and any approved contacts on the account to confirm the status of your vehicle. Where required, the Global Telemetrics Control Centre will also leave voicemails and send out text messages if we're unable to reach you or your approved contacts. We strongly recommend having more than one contact number registered on your account.

This is dependent on how much the vehicle is driven, however if the card battery has run low, the Global Telemetrics Secure Control Centre will contact you and advise you to charge the card.
After 5 minutes of inactivity and no movement your Driver Detection card will enter a sleep mode which will stop any signal being sent or received to the card until moved. This means your vehicle will not start until the card is woken again by movement (for example being picked up). The cards can be turned off fully using the power button. This will stop any signal being transmitted, after the vehicle is turned off, locked and the 180 seconds arm time has passed (vehicle dependant). A card in sleep mode adds extra security as no signal is transmitted.
If your vehicle is moved without the Driver Detection Card present, the Global Telemetrics Control Centre will contact you to confirm the status of your vehicle. If your vehicle has been stolen, you will need to report this as soon as possible to your local Police and obtain a crime reference or incident number. Whilst we would always recommend using the Faraday pouch that accompanies your installation for both your keys and detection cards. After the card has reached its 5 minutes without movement threshold, the card will not transmit or receive a signal and therefore even if the vehicle's keys have been replicated the vehicle will not start until the card is acquired or moved.
